Smuggling

I've got a problem. I need the prototype shield thingy but it isn't there in the ithorian docking bay, even before i took their transport to the surface. Then when i returned I dodn't even have to mind whammy the guard into letting me go in. So how do I get that shield?

Sounds like you already went planet side without finishing the side quest. Go to the security officer & fill him in on what the trader wants you to get. He might be very helpful.

That option is already gone... I alread got the bachani plant.

Talking to him should have given you the 3 things you needed. Check your inventory.
Also, check the locker room in the north / west corner of the bay.
If neither help you may have to go back to a pre-planet side save & redo it all over again
