I just met up with Valygar should I take him into my party, and who should I give the boot to? Currently in my party is Minsc,Jaheira,Nalia,Yoshimo,Aerie, and Myself a fighter. I was thinking of getting rid of Yoshimo since Nalia can be my thief. Thanks in advance.

Ok, besides joking, i did this part last night (picked the guy up and went into the sphear) so from my point of view, you NEED the extra mage power in there, in order to beat Lavok and (spoiler here?) that cowled wizard.
So, get rid of Joshimo (you can pick him up later if you feel so) or a fighter.

If you use Nalia she will need potions for some of the chests.She can detect:it just takes longer for her to find the traps.

Try Edwin as well; his and Jaheria's summoning comes in real handy, plus it helps if you can spell sequence magic missles against either Lavok or the Cowled Wizards.

Ditch Nalia, she sucks!
Or, of course, if that is what you want her to do , ditch Jaheira. She and Aerie won't get along very good anyway.

But when Jaheria and Aerie fight over you it's funny as hell! Especially if you flat out reject Aerie's advances; her's and Jaheria's reactions had me busting a gut. But that's just a bit off topic methinks. But here's the real question: what type character are you playing as, Mole?

I would suggest you dump Minsc for Valygar. After finishing the planar sphere dump Val and get Minsc back. Thats what I did. Eventually I dumped Minsc in favor of Keldorn.

HOW DARE YOU PROFANE THIS PLACE WITH YOUR PRESENCE?!?!?!? Dropping Minsc in favor of anyone else? Granted, he's not the best fighter but c'mon. Him+Boo+Lilacor= one funny-ass gaming experience. Either Keldorn or Valygar are better fighters, but neither are even remotely as funny as Minsc.

How could you ever get rid of Minsc and boo.
flinfman is right tho, give minsc the talknig swd, they have the same mentalitly.

I'm a fighter yes a plain old fighter. I dropped Yoshimo and kept Valygar. I like him so far,but now I'm meeting Mazzy is she worth keeping???? The first time I played this I didn't do all these side quests. Boy did I miss out on alot.

Get Mazzy and keep her at all costs. I honestly don't know how I made it through the first time without her. She's a hella good fighter and an unbelievable archer. Pair her with the Gesen Bow and you'll kick ass like few others.

I have a question about my party. I have Minsc, Jahreira, Anomen, Jan, and Korgan. I don't whether to get Mazzy or Valygar. Who should I choose. Oh, and I'm a Paladin.

Get Mazzy, ditch Anomen. The rest of your crew is good at melee, Jan and Mazzy are good distance fighters. Check out Mazzy's stats on the short bow in the NPC section on this site if you don't believe me. She's sweet, and has a nice voice too, which makes things easy on the ears too .

Ditch Nalia for Mazzy, then ditch Valygar for Keldorn.

And now that I look at it the party you have now is the exact one I had when I went through it the first time. The second time, I had my monk (friggin' awesome), Minsc, Mazzy, Keldorn, Viconia, Jan. After a later, um, altercation, I switched one of them out for Valgar. Which worked for me. The party you've got is good to begin with, but having played with it before I think it can be better.

Dude, Anomen is weak. He's whiney and pretentious, like Aerie with armor. Aerie's only appeal is deflowering her for those perverts amongst us. What's Anomen's appeal? Um, uh... oh right, none.
