A Bug? and a Boon

So I just experimented with crafting and discovered a few things:
1) Mithril armor has some interesting properties that I was not aware of, namely mithril full plate is a medium armor not a heavy armor, I assume a few of the other armor types are modified. A downside that I found is that my ranger cannot wear a mithril chain shirt without disabling his abilities, even though it should be a light armor (chain shirt) and even moreso for being mithril (I figure this is a bug, I can't see a reason why this should disable his abilities).
2) Vampiric weapons don't work very often rounding on the end of the game, i.e. there are many enemies that are ?immune?.
Just thought I'd share.

That's how mithril is supposed to work. Heavy->Medium, Medium->Light for armors. I have no clue why your ranger can't use his abilites in a mithril shirt though. That's not right at all and has to be a bug.

Vampiric Weapons won't work on...I believe Undead and Constructs are the only types that it shouldn't work on. Excepting the possibility of very powerful beings like some demons/devils and the like.

Out of curiosity did you Light Armor Feat get removed?

You could buy or make several +3 or better Adamintie Holy weapons.

If you use regular +3 or better weapons then maybe Acid (?) damage as your thrid, iirc Acid works well on both, or Slay the Undead instead of Acid it has a DC 14 to kill undead.

Regarding vampiric weapons, do undead include shades and wraiths, I would have called them shadows or something, but judging from the enemies available as favored enemies to rangers, I do not remember shadows existing as a group.

Is there a way of determining which class, for the purpose of ranger enemies, an enemy falls into?

Yes. Negative energy and energy draining type attacks will either have no effect, or strengthen these creatures (Inflict spells heal them).

I really don't know about doing so in game. If you are truly curious about a specific creature though, you can look here at this listing. If you see the creature listed, click on the name. There will be a description, and a "stat block", which is simply a listing of Title: Info type thing. The first line should be "Size/Type: *insert size and type*".

For example, the Orc: has:

Size/Type: Medium Humanoid (Orc)

This means, in order to get your bonus from Favored Enemy on the orcs, you would need to go through the list of Favored Enemy types and pick "Humanoid (Orc)".
