RDD LvL 10: Bug or just a bad joke?

Did they remove the feature that lvl 10 RDD get wings and horns etc. when they finally become a Half-Dragon or am I just bugged? I just used the console to create one just to see how it looks like, etc. and was shocked to see that the looks of my character didn't change a bit. This could really end up very very frustrating for peope looking forward to see a cute little Half-Dragon when they reach lvl 10 RDD. I'd be glad if someone could clarify this. Thx in advance.

Technically, you aren't supposed to get wings as a half-dragon unless you are of "Large" size or larger. So, I am assuming you are dealing not with a bug, but a fix, and a good thing too IMO.

Have you played NWN: HotU? As far as I remember you got wings there when you reached RDD lvl 10. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, I have, and yes you did. However, that was an incorrect portrayel of how the class works in DnD. An attempt was made to correct the gross misuse of DnD franchise stuff in the game, and that is probably one of the things which was taken out. Being that it is simply cosmetic, and doesn't affect your gameplay in any way besides how your character looks, they probably just didn't think people would care too much.
The way that should work is that unless you happen to be the size of say, an Ogre or Troll or larger, you will not get wings. Being that none of the race options for players happen to be of Large size or larger, and they corrected the error in the 10th level ability of the prestige class, chances are you will not see wings on your character.

Hmm... That pretty much disappoints me, I must admit. D&D computer games should be fun and not copying the D&D rules 1:1 in my opinion. And having wings... well.. was pretty much fun

And I guess many people will feel the same way about this "correction". Anyway, thanks for clarifying. At least we do know now, that size does matter :>

Well, if you ask me, the wings in NWN 1 were just a bad joke. Two far too small leathery flaps that somehow pierce my magical fullplate? Thanks, but no thanks.

*nods* My thoughts exactly. They didn't give you any abilities at all.

Wow, I was wrong before. Ok, so you
are supposed to have wings, and they should function. You are also supposed to get bite and claw attacks, and more spells known as well with the class. The developers nerfed the class abilities completely.
Ha.
Still, if the wings don't work, there's no point in having them. Makes you look stupid IMO. Like wearing a helmet when arranging flowers or something.

They removed other things too. The boney palemaster arm and Tiefling tails come to mind (there even is ingame talk about the latter). It probably has already been modded though, I never bothered to check.

Can't speak for the Palemaster's bone graft, but Tiefling tails are included as of patch 1.03.

Oh, cool? Didn't know that. I'll need to find a screenshot of that tail then, 'cause it's not enough reason for me to reinstall the game.
