SPOILER Crossing the river in West Harbor/ Claimed lands.

In Act 3, The claimed lands when looking for the scar at West Harbor. Which character has the ability to use the logs to build a bridge?
I think you need some crafting to do it.
I just ran through the water without many penalties and didn't bother with the logs.
