Invulnerable Miner *spoiler*

This thread concerns the miner Pentin. After I got him to work at Crossroad Keep in Chap II, he told me(second conversation) that he will leave for Waterdeep. As I am chaotic evil I threatened to kill him of course, which I attempted shortly after. Unfortunately Pentin seems to be invincible. Everytime I shoot him, hit him, or cast spells on him there's just a big white 0 above his head.

Has anyone dealt with this problem before? Is it a bug or intended?
Bishop says something about letting him scream etc. and I also gain 2 influence with him but that's doesn't explain his invulnerability imo. Anyway, hope you can help me with this. Thx in advance.

So long,
Sol

Well I can't say exactly why or what but I can say I played CG and used Diplomacy and he stayed. :)

The Elder Scrolls series is the only game I have played that has fully interactive NPC's. NWN and NWN 2 have scripting features which disable the ability to harm those neutral or friendly towards you in various areas, as well as at any time the game is programmed to do so. It is probably just the games scripting making sure he stays alive regardless of what you want to do.

Patch 1.03 mentions a fix to Pentin not becoming hostile if you attack him, which was my case, and a grea boon to boot. I suspect that he also becomes invulnerable (I bet he's not attacking you back.) Try applying patch 1.03, I bet that addresses it.

Yup, I currently have Patch 1.03 Beta, so I'll try that. Thank you.
