Playing 2 clans or more simultaniously!?

I have read somewhere in this forum that you can play with 2 or more clans at the same time, and for example play the Sabbat Warehouse with one of them and then use it's saved game file for others too so that you don't have to play it all over again with the other clans that you are currently playing with.

However, I wanted to know if this is true? And can you actually do this?

If so, will it effect the background of your character as well? I mean, if for example you have played the warehouse with an evil Gangrel character who has been nasty Mercurio or has a very low humanity, if you use his saved game for the other clan that you have who for example is a good Nosferatu, will this effect the humanity and the history, generally the background of your Nosferatu too?

Because I am playing 5 clans simultaniously now (Brujah, Gangrel, Nosferatu, Malkavian and Ventrue) and I play Santa Monica with one of them, then the other, then the other, until the end... It is making me impatiant and I really want to play with them all. lol

Thanks for the help in advance. :)

I don't think you can, Lunaida. If you're playing several simultaneously, then you're saving your SAVE folders for each and swapping them back and forth, right? AFAIK that's the only way to play multiple clans at the same time.

There is another way - to sell off your disciplines and use the XP to buy the disciplines of another clan, but while that changes your disciplines, your character is the same 'clan' and history. All that's changed is the disciplines.

Thank you Jhereg. I guess I'll have to go on with playing them one at a time then...
But still it's fun to see the different reactions, especially if the characters act differently :D

P.S. I'm not swapping saved files, I don't know how to do that. I'm pass the Ocean House with my Gangrel for example, and then pass it with my Nosferatu, then Brujah, then Malkavian, then Ventrue, and so on... and I have 5 saved files for them, for example "Gangrel Los Angeles", that's why it's making me impatiant! :(

Ah, then, Lady Lunaida. Allow me to make thy life simpler. If you installed in the prescribed default fashion, then you can find a folder at:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire\SAVE"

That's your current game, whatever that may be. If you stop the game, you can re-name the folder "SAVE" to something else, for example "SAVE_Brujah", and create a new, empty folder called "SAVE". Then start a new game, and it will be in the folder "SAVE". You can make as many SAVE folders as you wish, and start any number of games, one in each. Just re-name them differently. You may eventually have folders that are "SAVE_Brujah", "SAVE_Gangrel", "SAVE_Nosferatu", or whatever. Pick a naming convention that works for you.

Then, to switch between them, stop the game, go to "C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire", rename the current "SAVE" folder to something else, rename another "SAVE_<whatever>" folder to "SAVE", and start VTMB again. You will be back in the other game, whatever it was.

In this fashion, you can have any number of games on the go all at the same time, switch between each as you deem fit, and have a ball. You'll always be able to resume any game at the point where you left it. Just one caveat. Keep a notepad file on your desktop to tell you what game you're currently playing, so you don't lose track, especially if you have multiple games going with the same clan.

Many thanks Sir Jhereg! This made my life a lot easier indeed :D
