OK, this happened when I originally got he game and I got so frustrated I uninstalled because I couldn't figure it out.

I am in Chapter 3, when the game loads I select the save mission, does not matter which mission I choose.

The module loads and then game starts - for about 10-15 seconds. Then all screen motion freezes. About 5-10 seconds later the screen goes black. While the screen is black the game resumes and I can hear whatever is taking place. After about 5-10 seconds more the computer reboots.

Running a 2.4 P4
2 Gb Ram
Radeon 9700 Pro 128 video - latest drivers
Soundblaster Live soundcard -latest drivers

So far I have tried reducing graphic detail - including the water.
Turning off the sound.
Reinstalling game.

Any ideas?

Is this the original campaign, Shadows of Undrentide or Hordes of the Underdark?

This problem sounds very familiar. I've also encountered similar problems like this in quite a number of games I've played. I do know of two tips on how to solve this crash issue:

1) Try switching the compatibility mode to Windows 98.

2) Try to lower your sound acceleration from the DxDiag menu.

Hope these tips help. :)

P.S. Don't forget to update your graphics card drivers, defrag your hard drive and patch the game.

Solved my problem. Turned out my power supply couldn't push enough juice. So, rather than get another power supply, I got a new computer. http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/image ... tongue.gif

Maybe now i can finally finish the original campaign in time to get NWN2 around Christmas!

Thanks for everyones help.
