I am at the tree of life. I fight Irenicus after the little chat with Ellesime. I chew him to ribbons every time, pretty easy, really(my planetar kills everything, as does a deva). But when I get sucked into hell the game crashes or freezes. I just can't understand why. When I fought Irenicus for the first time up there, he killed 2 of my members. Then I won the fight, we got sucked into hell and the game continued as it should. Until I realized that every item of the dead characters was lost. So, I reloaded and now I encounter the problem mentioned above. What can I do? I am really angered.'Tis the first time completing the game and I was already upset when the goddamn romance with jaheira hung up. And now that? Please help!

I've never heard of that problem, but have you installed the latest patch? It's worth a try at least.

I guess, I got the newest version. Damn it, I've been fighting Irenicus all day long and the game crashes again and again. Seems like he's mocking me even at death's brink. I curse his bloody soul. I bet, he messed my romance up, too. Anyways, why would someone create such a stupid romance that bears so many possibilities to crash. Are those guys at Bioware nuts???

Heh I wasted him a few times too because I tought the items get lost. Actually the items get transported to hell too. They will all be in a single pile quite close to your characters. I paniced so badly I didn't see them.

Try removing all the files in the cache and temp directories under BGII. This usually fixes alot of crash problems. BTW, I believe that all the equipment of the characters who died is on the ground when you reach Hell. I had someone die and they were naked, but I found all the equipment on the ground. Good luck.

Who cares if 2 of your guys had no equipment anyway? If you could summon a deva/planetar you should have no problem even with only 4......

Well, I managed to finish the game last night.The advice with emptying the cache and temp folders worked just fine. Thanks a lot.
BTW, the game almost gets too easy with throne of bhaal installed. The "big" fight against Shangalar, Kangaxx and Irenicus are a piece of cake with spells like summon planetar and the like. Cast a bit of Time Stop and blast the enemy with all you got. But takes out a bit of the fun. On the other side I just enjoy being incredibly powerful. Hear my words, Bhaalspawn across Faerun, I will blast ya from here to Baator!

i noticed that about ToB too, all my characters are uber, one of them hasn't died in so long, i cant even remember when.. that silver sword in tob just isn't right.
