Rest with a 'Wish'.....how?

Guys,

I have been hearing all about how you can cast a wish spell with a high wisdom (especially during the battle with Mellisan) and it acts to rest the whole party (refreshing spells).

How does this work? I have tried it with a rather high wisdom character (wisdom 22), and I NEVER got that option. {I got double time-stop, fortitude, etc) but not that. Am I missing something?

/rant Am I the only one that is upset at the way BGII has implimented limited wish and wish? Come on...whose WISH is it anyway? You should get the SAME options everytime (for any given wisdom). It seems COMPLETELY CHEESY that you would cast a 7th or 9th level spell and then HOPE you get an option you could use.

/end rant

It would be cheesier if you got what you wanted every time, imagine, you could use wish to rest up any time you wanted to. You would never run out of spells or anything like that again.

White Rabbit,

Could you please:

1. ANSWER the bloody question.

2. Try to remember that Wish *is* a 9th level spell. For a ninth level spell, you deserve more than CPU potluck.

Unfortunate, it works that way.
Limited wish is more powerful that its PnP variant (limit wish would never give time stop since it can only mimic spells until 7 level) and wish downgraded.

Baack to the original question then....am I missing something? Which 'wish' option rests your party? I haven't found one yet...even with a Wisdom of 22.

It seems to be random. Maybe if someone cuts through the wish code they could give a better explanation, but I fiddled with it and got different results sometimes. I rested between castings normally, got the same results, rested again, got different results.

Maybe try casting a spell that provides a bonus to every roll (Luck?) before casting wish.

I'd need to reinstall BG2/TOB to tell you the precise wording, but its something along the lines of "I wish it would be like we had just rested."

Or you could download something like the Infinity Explorer or other similar tools to find out for yourself...

I asked that very same question some time ago, and some kind soul gave a full listing. It's here.
