I was just wondering if anyone knows exactly what the Familiar spell is supposed to do (Summoning Level 5)... he's a lot less powerful in combat than the Demon and Level 4 and the familiar doesn't have any useful spells or skills. Is the advantage simply that he's a free follower since he doesn't cost any fatigue to maintain? Does he do something cool at higher levels?

The familiar is very useless and eventually becomes really annoying. The good thing is that it is a permanent party member, the bad thing is it's a permanent party memeber.

It sometimes causes problems with the train and some people who'll freak out. The most annoying thing though, is it's loud flapping wings drove me insane.

Personally I didn't find it all that useful and it didn't seem to do much when I did have it. The ogre is the best summoning spell though mind you.
