O.K. i am going to (eventually) go buy a new computer so i can play oblivion(beaten 360).

But, on a cupple of posts that ive read ive seen things like graphic cards and stuff like that, and i have no idea  what the heck that is.

So can someone give me the basic on what i need, where to get it, and how much it costs.

Thanx in advance. ;)

Just check the requirements on the box the game came in. Or in the Manual. Then give those requirements to whoever is going to build your pc for you.

What you need

Here are the minimum and recommended PC system requirements. I would not recommend getting a new computer that only met the minimum requirements because the next generation of games will probably require even more power and speed from your PC:

Minimum System Requirements:
Windows XP
512MB System RAM
2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
8x DVD-ROM Drive
4.6 GB free hard disk space
DirectX 9.0c (included)
128MB Direct3D Compatible Video card and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver
DirectX 8.1 Compatible Sound Card
Keyboard, Mouse

Recommended System Requirements:
3.0 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
1 GB System RAM
ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series,
or higher video card

Supported Video Card Chipsets:
ATI X1900 series
ATI X1800 series
ATI X1600 series
ATI X1300 series
ATI X850 series
ATI x800 series
ATI x700 series
ATI x600 series
ATI Radeon 9800 series
ATI Radeon 9700 series
ATI Radeon 9600 series
ATI Radeon 9500 series
NVIDIA Geforce 7800 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 series
NVIDIA GeForce FX series

I run the game on a 3.0 GHz Pentium with 2 GB RAM and NVIDIA Geforce 7800 video card and although the game runs pretty good its not perfect. The game has so much animation and detail that I have to scale down on some of the video input to keep the frame rate high.
