A few questions...

I recently went mod-crazy and installed a whole bunch (which btw made my oblivion much better; I use only mods that fix game bugs, improve fps, make the game look better etc) of mods. The one I like the most is LevelSlow mode; I think it makes the game much more realistic (I really hated that skill leveling by default; it was like EVERYTHING i bloody did leveled some skill: I wanna run from a cave to the Imperial City=>Athletics +1, I wanna sneak up on a goblin=>Sneak +1...anyway I just had the feeling I was in a rush). So basically I have a few questions on what mods to use to make my oblivion more realistic without altering the gameplay or making any crucial changes (because I haven't even completed the MQ ever).
1st Q: What mode can I use to make my Mercantile skill more realistic, or at least normal? ::I want a mod that is compatible with LevelSlow::
2nd Q: I find some skills still too easy to level, like Alteration. I just cast a few shields and it goes up, even though i am using LevelSlow (x2 slower). Is there a way to balance this or some other slower leveling mode that doesn't alter gameplay, but only slows down the skill leveling? ::What I want is actually a way to make Oblivion skill leveling the same as Morrowind skill leveling (which I find perfectly balanced)::
3rd Q: I have played lots of rpgs, and the reason I started playing Oblivion now is because I am just too bored of those classic rpgs like BGII, Icewind Dale, Morrowind etc. I just don't play those new rpgs because they are too bloody easy (even on highest difficulty level). I've read some Oblivion reviews and I think it's creature leveling system is actually great (to keep the game challenging). Anyway my question is what difficulty should an experienced gamer set on that difficulty slider to make my game challenging and not too difficult, or is perhaps the default setting just right for me? (I've heard that it gets harder as you level)

::My post may be a bit boring but I would really appreciate help http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/image ... s/wink.gif
;) ::

What I say may not be much use to you, because I don't use Mods, nor have I installed any patches or anything. I have the original game as is.

So:
Alteration - as with all skills - takes longer and longer to level up as your skill rises, so it is only a problem early in the game.
SOME of the skills you want to use a lot should probably be kept as Minor skills - but that means you have to have some stuff you don't care about as Major skills - and I, personally, find that VERY irritating! I never use Conjuration, for example, and to have that sitting in my Major skills at level 25/35 would drive me nuts.

So, after trying with using Minor skills, because I was levelling too fast, I stopped. Now I put as many of the skills that I want in the Major skills as will fit in there!

Tips:
1. Strength and Endurance and Willpower - but especially Strength - are probably your most important Attributes.

2. SNEAK is probably the most important skill ANY Class can have. If you are a Heavy Armour type, use shoes when dungeon crawling, use the Sneak button, and you can frequently wipe out even the toughest enemy with only one unseen blow. I've taken out Dremora Valkynaz with one blow of a little dagger. A magic dagger, granted...

Difficulty level:

When I started, I played with the difficulty slider poised over the O of the word OFF beneath it. The default setting places the slider over the first F.
Try moving it to the second F for a slightly harder game, and if it is still too easy/too tough, move the slider another point either way until you are comfortable with the difficulty.
I currently use the default setting which just suits me. I would like it a touch easier, but pride gets in the way, LOL!

That was really helpful, thx for taking your time :)
And i moved a slider just a little bit to the right and now the difficulty is ok.
