Bravil Mage Quest

I have looked thru all the post and can't seem to see anyone that has come across my problem, so I need help. I started talking to Head Mage at Bravil, and she started to tell me about her friend, but at the time I wasn't in the mood to start the quest, I was in the middle of several others. Now that I am down with the Main quest I am going back to finish up all the Mage quest and this is the last one for recommadation. But the problem seems she will not talk to me about her friend again. So I can't finish her first quest and get to the recommation staff quest needed to finish the Mage Guild Quest. Does anyone have any suggests. Its not like I can reload a old save game since its been days even a week or so since I started her quest lines. My husband mentioned a possiblity of cheating and maybe tweeking her script to for get me and start over or something like that.
Hope I am not too confusing to understand

If you started a quest then you could browse through your uncompleted quest list and make that quest the current one. Then, a brief synopsis of the quest should appear in the current quest page.
F4 then the goblet icons.

And, if you select "Make this my active quest", you should get a map marker that shows where you need to go.

active quests
I have made both the mage quest active and the missing friend active and both give me the green arrow on her but still no new info in her talking or asking if I am ready to help.

Did you talk to the friend? Or is the problem that you don't know who the friend is? I think it is an Argonian woman who hangs out in the Guild hall.

No for the Dream quest, her friend is asleep in their house and the door needs a key to enter the house. I have tried to talk to everyone in the town in hopes some one might talk about the missing friend again, but silly ppl just want to talk about how nice it is that the Oblivion war is over... I want to scream at them saying hey been there done that bought the crappy shirt *grin*

Quest confusion!
It sounds like you're talking about two different quests: Bravil recommendation and the dream quest are not related.
Have you looked at the walkthrough?
The Bravil recommendation is separate from the misc quest you're describing.
Have you completed the recommendation yet?
You may have to complete the recommendation before you'll get the misc quest rolling. Also try using the persuasion mini-game to get her to like you as much as possible. That may trigger her trust in you to get things rolling.

yea, I know there are two quests, she started with the dream quest because I had heard the rumors about her missing friend and I talked to her at night. I read that this does happen this way. She loves me, everyone loves me right now. Most ppls disposition is 100 for me right now. I have 25 bouns on personallity because of the Dragon Statue in imperial temple.
At least this problem is a little less frustating then my unable to train with anyone right now...three skills at expert and the masters quests done but the I am unable to train do to filled training for this level...silly me getting too good for my own good *grin*
Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far

 I guess everyone's a little confused! I had a few crazy bugs like that - I just restarted.... doesn't it drive you crazy, though???
At least you're on a computer, though, have you found a way to script it in yet?

script it in? Husband is the computer geek, I am just the gaming nerd. Give me an Rpg and leave me alone for a month and I am happy. Well for now, I am being a fighter guild lackie, so I will be happy for a while, and hope someone comes up with something that helps me on the problem..
Go kill someone!

Did you scroll down the gold bar on the left hand side of the conversation options? I remember I had a similar problem, couldn't get her to talk about the recommendation no matter what I did, but there are so many conversation options that the recommnendation one was off the screen......try scrolling that gold bar!
