talking to the guy in great hall (possible spoiler)

ive just done the test of might on bloodmoon and im preety sure my games screwed up. 
. i talked to the guy becuse i did with my aragonin and it worked for him but when i talk to him with my bosmer and the fight sound comes up outside but when i go outside everythings normal? is my game screwed up. should i get a new disk or start over bloodmoon or what.
