first of all what kind of computer should i get for both modding and playing games right now ive been using xbox concle and i tired of it another thing is what kind of program should i get to create models and skins for morrowind

1 more thing how much will this cost me probably

Let me warn you first.


Modding is somewhat difficult to technically challenged people. You won't be famous (among players) over night, or at all more than likely. It will take many hours just to build one mod which might not get downloaded much.



If your still interested, then continue. Not trying to dishearten you or anything.


Really, as long as you have 256 mgs RAM, a decent CPU, and a post 2002 decent Vid Card, you can play morrowind.


Skinning, Modelling, and animating can be done in Blender, as well as other programs like 3D max, and Maya.


Blender is free, and I only spent about 600 bucks for my semi modern Dell machine. 512 Mb's, Good CPU, but with a slightly older Vid Card (Only thing stopping me from running OB.)

Although creating mods is very time consuming and goes largely unrecognised, its still a lot of fun. I've created several small mods just for my own use. They are nothing fancy but I had a fun few days creating them. Also, the Morrowind Toolset is quite easy to find your way around once you get used to it - check the mods sticky thread at the top of this forum and there are links to some good tutorial pages.

I have a mid-range pc, that is 2 years old and with a useless video card (an intel chipset), with a P4 processor and 512mb RAM and I've never had any problem spec wise with creating mods in Morrowind so you don't really need a fancy machine, although if you want to play recent games and future games it would probably be a better investment in the long run to get a more up to date and powerful machine than mine.
