crafting a lightsaber(might contain spoiler)

You know on the back of the KOTOR2 game box, there is a picture of a female jedi with a lightsaber using force lightning. is there any way for you to actually craft a lightsaber that early in the game? If there is, could you tell me how to get the rest of the peices?
(I already know about the one chodo Habat gives you)

Not without cheating. As with most games, the pictures on the back are not always accurate or were from scenes cut out of the game. The earliest you can get a lightsaber is on the first planet you decide to visit after Telos.

As what mr_sir have said, you can only find the rest of the lightsaber parts on any first planet you choose after Telos. (spoilers, please highlight)
For me I choose Dxun (the easiest, to me).
To find out where to get them, I suggest leafing around this KOTOR 2 forum and the walkthrough. You'll bound to come across useful information.

Looking at the back of my box, it seems the first pic is Telos Polar region. Yes she does have a double saber & using force lighting on a HK unit. No, probably as has been said, you cannot get a saber this early & pic is from the creater's stash.
Intresting because the next pic on the box is Onderan Sky Ramp siege. Looks like PC, Mandarin, Kreia in the party. PC attacking a Sith. But Kreia is behind the PC at about 12 o'clock, pointing at Madarin who is at about 9 o'clock. He is also firing a rifle in what appears to be either Kreia herself or at least her direction. Is it just me or is he really blasting her??
Last pic is Dux landing with Handmaiden & Hanharr in the party

I think that's the part where the developer, Obsidian Entertainment, is fooling around with the game. Since they developed the game, they can also modify the content and do whatever they want with it. That's why they add things that are inconceivable but most likely they did it just to promote the game.

With a female PC - so no Handmaiden normally.

well, it would be nice if you could`ve had one that early.
I wonder how Atris would have responded to it.

Actually I did stumble across the screenshot of both Hanharr and the Handmaiden coupled with the female PC at some point when leafing around some of the screenshots for KOTOR 2 back last year. As what Greg has mentioned, its been edited to feature them in there.

Yeah. Wonder why it needs to be like that.

TRUE GREG.... female PC & Handmaiden don't mix!! I thought something looked funny, didn't see the obvious. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to go back & hack a saved female game to see if I can get handmaiden instead of Disiple.

I think that you get Handmaiden if you are male and Disciple if you don't have Handmaiden - so it should work...

I thought that getting either the Handmaiden or the Disciple depends on the gender of the PC?

You are correct Des, but I am going to try to hack with my save game editor & see if I can be female with Handmaiden

That would lead to some interesting dialogue I think, between the female exile and Handmaiden.

You do - but if you cheat to get Handmaiden with a female PC, you won't get Disciple. If you get rid of Handmaiden by cheating you will get Disciple.
Or it may be wholly dependant on PC gender - you can only edit your game to get one IIRC.

Tried to edit my save game to get handmaiden with female pc. No dice. Will not work. But there is a 'both' gender in the editor, although I would want to read up on it before changing the save. Let me look around & see what others say about it. Or if I get enough juma-juice in me tonight after work I might get brave / stupid enough to give it a go.

Better be careful with that Juma-juice, Walter.

Who knows what will happen if you overdo it.

Tell Me! I recall once I was playing with too much juma. Woke up the next morning in front of the 'puter with a stiff neck. Funny, I started the game at Telos & all of a sudden the next morning I was at Korraban????? Darn juma juice. Wife said it was funny with me babbling all day about "how did I end up there?" Had to give up on that game & restart due to the fact I did not know what happened the night before.

Hmmm, am I the only single blade fan about? I mean it can look cool (and colorful) to wield two blades, but seriously if you may out your dueling skill you're a far better fighter. Maxing out dual-weild only gets rid of the penalties for using more than one weapon. Sure you get double the crystals and its quite an effective way for slaghtering troops en mass, but against more powerful targets single blade if far more effective since your more likely to hit (what's the point of having twice as many attacks if only half of them hit?)
