I've started this quest, and have opted to take the easy way out and just fast-travel to all the shrines, collecting the 10 souls necessary for the Mora soulstone.

I've got 5 souls so far, but now I can't collect any other souls. I cast Mora's Soul Trap on the person whose soul I want to collect (and I know that I definitely don't have that race's sould type yet), but when I kill them, I don't get the message popping up that I've collected their soul.

Has anyone completed this quest, and/or come across this problem? It should be straight-forward, but it's now frustrating not being able to collect the necessary souls.

Are you sure you are killing them before the soul trap wears off? If the Mora's soul trap works as the others do, it wears off after a set period of time. Try soul trapping the person when their health is almost gone.

Thanks for the input. No, the Mora Soul Trap lasts for 120 seconds - the targets are definitely glowing pink to indicate the spell has been cast on them, but when I kill them, no soul trap!

But I will try casting just before they die, rather than before I even strike them, otherwise I'll end up killing half of Cyrodill at this rate!

On the other hand you could be experiencing the known bug with that quest. If you accidentaly hit two or more people with his soul trap, then the glitch occurs and you get the situation like yours. Let us know. If you're on the PC it can be fixed.

that'll mark it as all souls collected)

Thanks for that Ashen - yes, I've only just read up about this bug, and it's exactly what happened.

Cheers for the cheat codes - I can always kill the followers later if my evil heart so desires :mischief:
