It was a shame to kill the Grey Prince while his not defending himself.
I would rather a fair match. Is there not any way to make a fair match with him?
He's a natural half vampire (witch means he cannot cured by a potion), I would to help him. And also, a inducement for him to retire...
Plz helps this buddy...

not talk to him at all?? I only suggest it because I never thought of talking to him and as such got to fight him like any other combatent at the end...

The thread title was in itself a major giveaway of plot information. (And that doesn't even cover the contents of the first post.) I've changed it and put a SPOILER tag on it. Next time, you do it, or your posting privileges will be suspended.

Sorry fable...
I tried to talk with him, but he says only "end my miserable life for being a monster" and ends the conversation.

Been a long while, GameBanshee. Onto the task at hand:
I assume you are talking about the Arena Grand Champion? The only way for a fair fight with him is to do what I did, raise in the ranks and not undertake his quest at all. When it comes high time for you to be Arena Grand Champion, challenge him. If I have this person totally wrong, let me know. I've done everything there is to do in Oblivion, so I can get NPC's mixed up pretty easily.

No, u r right, its the arena grand champ.
But how you can complete his quest if u challenge him before completing the quest?

you cant complete his quest if you dont take his quest, thats the whole point. the quest is to help him kill himself, if you want to fight him properly then you shouldnt take the quest, just do the arena fights straight through. (to clarify, completing the arena and doing the gray prince quests are two seperate quests)

The thing I like about doing his quest and then killing him easily in the last fight is that it is an easy intro into the Dark Brotherhood.

A Fair Fight!
I had done most of his quest but decided not to tell him as I had read about his reaction when it came time to fight him in the Arena.
There is no use in telling him as I wanted to beat him in the Arena and not destroy his dignity nor his competitive nature. What sort of final champion would that make me?
I did not tell him what I had found. I fought him as one Champion fighting another leaving him his dignity and beating him fairly one-on-one. I won the Arena Championship as a true Champion. I did not finish his quest and he died a true Champion!

But otherwise he got to know about his mother and father. Also he teaches you some skills as reward. I think there must be a way, but so far I don't find it.
He's not a vampire, he's not feeding himself. So there must be a true peaceful (or at least rightful) way.

Well, you could use one of those illusion spells to make him angry. Don't know if it would work. Which one? I forget, the opposite of 'calm creature/humanoid'.

I wish there was a better way!....I couldn't think of one.
Warlord Hector.....I wish there was a better way as it is unfair because the results of his knowing destroy his dignity and will to live.
My character (Blue Team Member) had talked with Agronak gro-Malog the "Grey Prince" and he was a friendly and noble Arena Champion who knew that we might meet in the arena. He offered a quest and training that would help in the Arena when I faced him believing he is the son of a Lord. I also attempted to talk to members of the "Yellow" team and was treated as a nobody.
He is the son of a Lord and so of royal blood. He cannot chose his parents and he did not rise to "Arena Champion" because of who his parents were.
My choice would have been to be able to tell him that he is of royal blood and that his parents had both died and then fight him as Champion versus Champion thus ending his quest.
Bethesda Softworks absolutely blew this quest by not allowing another option to end the quest and become a true champion.
There is only one choice that makes you the true "Arena Champion" and that is to choose to not complete his quest and beat him with your own character's skills. What is there to gain in beating an opponent who is left hollow and without the will to defend himself. He is not his father and there is no line in the game that says he is a vampire.
