Hi there...

I've been a reader of these forum's for quite a while but have, up until now, never felt the need to post...

I have recently installed the patch for TOB and ever since doing so I get horrendous sound when playing the game (in SOA or TOB sections). It kinda sounds like white noise / feedback. The game is still playbel however once you've turned the sound down.

I thought maybe it was due to me having the Baldurdash files installed prior to me installing TOB but it worked fine pre-patch!

I've even un-installed and reinstalled (I was going to start again from scratch with a different character anyhow)and have not put any unofficial files (such as Baldurdash or romance fixes) hoping this would fix, but alas no....!

I am running Windows 2000 (service Pack 2)
AMD Athlon 1000mhz
512meg (2 x 256) 133mhz
Creative Ge-Force (SDR)
Soundblaster Live! with Liveware 3

Hope somebody can help me here as I'm itching to play TOB !!

(For the record Icewind Dale still workis fine... no expansion pack though but am considering)

First of all welcome to the board!

There has been a topic on this problem before (try the search ) It seems to have some relation to Creative Labs soundcards.

I had no problem with any BG series with regards to sound until I installed a Soundblaster Live soundcard. I also get white noise.

I think there are other issues with my card though, because BG is not the only software I have this problem with.

I got around it by disabling the ambient sound in the config - good luck!
