I tried stealing from Bandoth using my thief, but nothing happens. I'm in the store area and click on the hand icon to perform stealing. But I steal nothing. Is this a bug?

If you kill him you will see that he doesn't have anything to pickpocket for you.

I'm not talking about pickpocketing. I already tried pickpocketing him and found nothing.

What I'm saying is when I talk to him and select the dialog option for bartering/trading, I get to the store area where I can buy his spells and potions. But when I select on the hand icon to perform stealing, it won't let me steal any of the store items. Any ideas?

You can't steal any of his stuff, just like you can't pickpocket all those expensive weapons from Conlan.

Buy what you need, you should have enough money. If you don't, go through the next area, sell all the magical drow weapons from UDD in the Severed Hand, and you will have enough money to clear him out. If you still don't have enough, go clear out the Tiers of the Dead.

Thanks for the heads up. I got enough cash to buy Bandoth's stuff, but I guess I'm a cheapskate at heart!

But is there any shop in the game where I can do the stealing from the Buy?Sell screen?

No. Aggravating, isn't it?

OTOH, it's pretty easy to get money in this game.

The best way to increase your money supply is to do all your buying using a character with 18 Cha. It's even better if you have a bard, wizard, or cleric with 18 Cha. Bards and wizards can use the 1st lvl spell Friends to get 23 Cha. A cleric can use a cleric-only amulet (bought from Orrick) to cast Friends.

20 cha is optimal for shop prices, more doesn't help.
So if you have a bard in your party you can get the cheapest prices since they get at least 15 cha.
