Has anyone done this quest yet that can tell me just exactly WHAT spells I'm supposed to cast at this pillar? And in what order? And where the heck do I get them?

I'm stuck....I even tried putting something in there with the Construction set, but a spell to Fortify Magicka (like the guy says you need) that casts on TARGET does not....repeat, does not exist! What am I supposed to do here?

Here are the spells and their correct order: Fire, frost, damage magicka, fortify magicka. This is out of the guide. I haven't done the quest myself. Did you check for an appropriate scroll while you were searching?

Where can one get a damage magicka spell? You can MAKE a fortify magicka on target spell in the Arcane University, simple enough. However I have not experienced any damage magicka spells (I buy the direct damage spells, not the "mess with them" spells). Does anyone know at what mages guild I can buy a damage magicka spell?

In the room just outside the pillar room, there is a chest with about 12 scrolls in it.
This contains all the spells necessary to unlock the pillar.

Guys, all the spells are right there!

You don't need to buy anything. There are two chests, one sitting on top of the other next to the guy you talked to about translating the inscriptions for you. They are all there, scrolls. Use them.

Also in which order - well in the order in which he translated them.

I've removed several posts, and am closing this thread. The question has been answered, and unlike some other forums I could (but won't) name, we don't need multiple posts saying the same thing in different words.
