Recently I have been having problems connecting to the internet using my D-Link, for the first three weeks I had the link it worked fine but for the past two weeks it has been spasing out on me, only working once in awhile, and even then noly for about five minutes. I have changed the USB ports I had it plugged into and that worked, for a day. Are there any more permanent solutions? Defective Hardware? Ignorance on my part?

Phreddie I am the last person who has any knowledge of this kind of thing. I have recently had a lot of problems with a wireless thingy. The first cause appears to have been a filter which was not working; then in the course of sorting that out the settings got changed without my knowledge.(things like username; and somethings called VCI and VPI - I don't know what those are but they need to be right) The provider company talked me through resetting them and that seems to have fixed my problem for now. Perhaps you could try that? The symptoms were like yours

Distance and objects (like metal) can easily interfere with the signal, as well as any switching of the wires at any point, or any of them being slightly out of their port.
I'd recommend using the contact numbers and sites available to you in your booklet. I can't send you mine... we might have different models, and I'm pretty sure they will ask you for a series of contact numbers upon e-mailing/calling/throwing brick through window-ing them.
