ad&d gameplay too fast/need to slow it

hi, i'm hoping this is an easy one ... when i'm playing pool of darkness (or any of my old ad&d games) the battle goes by at warp speed and i can't follow any of the battle stats (loss of hp n stuff) and the enemy is cruising too ... its very difficult to play this way and i'm hoping someone knows how to slow it down .... there IS a speed button in the menu (during the game) but it doesn't seem to affect anything ... i seem to remember having this problem with a mod game i was playing on an emulator and i think(?) i slowed the frame rate down, but that was with an emulator and it had an options bar .... i don't know how to do it on this ..... if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it .....

Look for and download DOSBox. It's a great DOS emulator, and it looks like you're running DOS games. Its controls lets you incrementally speed up and slow down the games, too.

Fable, you're a genius (that's probably the hundredth time you've heard that). ;)

I tried that out on an old Dos game, that was running too slow, and it wasn't working properly... now it works like a treat. And best of all, there is sound, I can never remember hearing sound before.

Recommend the program to all! :)
