can or cannot Mephistopheles be killed with death magic?

I don't recall him being immue to death magic, so if he fails save throw then I guess he can. However, his savethrows are very high, so that's basically only if he rolls a critical fail (1)

First time I killed him, he rolled a 1 when getting hit by my Black Blade of Disaster(I think it is called) and was instantly destroyed.
Not sure the Blades destroy ability is death magic though?

He can be killed with death magic (used a Destruction on him, took away all the fun )

The planar rift properties (black blade) isn't counted as critical hits as far as I know, because mephisto is immune to crits. So death magic is probably the most likely thing.
