I playing this game for the first time and my avatar is a wizard and I just on chapter 1 and during the game play I pick up some useful wands. I havnt seen much armour/robes/equipment for wizards. Do you have to go somewhere special to purchase wizards gear as I would like to buy some wands and equipment.

I'm guessing you're in chapter 1, in the original campaign. If you go to the cloak tower (the big building on the left just outside of the temple you meet Tomi), the shopkeeper there is the biggest seller of mage items.
