Worse than surfing with a 56 K modem, would be having 56 K modem and a picture of Weasel and said sheep on your screen as you are *veerrry slowly* taken to your next url of choice

Excuse me if I sound overly bitter about it but how about living with 200 Euros / month in a country where food costs more than in the US ? This is what I have to do and my parents only get 180 Euros a month togheder. Try this for a change than complain about Internet access speed ... Sorry, don't mean to start a flame here but I really think it's a little spoiled to complain about such things and consider them "the worst thing" ....

That is true and my point was that we should keep such complains for ourselves. I consider this argument closed.

The point of this thread is to have fun, like many other threads out there, not to truthfully complain about what we think is wrong with our lives.

What's worse than surfing on a 56k modem? Probably a monitor that is broken due to his long and hard usage, going funky by creating distortions making the screen go all waverly or completely black with a strange ticking sound coming out of the machine, making yours truly believe that hackers are trying to destroy his beloved files or a virus trying to eat his way all over the place

...or at least, I hope it really is just the monitor.........

Using a 56K and going on to a chat site with a guy named Trojan bouncing around and then WoW a Trojan for the home security system.

God, you know, it's hard to imagine something worse than using a 56k modem, but I'm used to it. What makes it worse is when I spend a month visiting my parents and I use their DSL. Then I get used to it, and it becomes murder to use my 56k again.

Okay, what's worse than 56k? How about going to work with your inhaler, going home, packing your inhaler in your backpack, going to class, going home, going back to work, and then struggling at work for hours on end because you just happened to forget the $%&#ing inhaler that time. Talk about torture. And speaking of, it's time to take a hit of my Albuterol bong.

Ooh, how about using a 56k modem to load the picture of Weasel in a speedo doing a sheep, only you don't realize it's that until the picture loads at its agonizingly slow speed. "Oooh, hot momma in wool... c'mon, hurry up... hurry up... NOOOOO!!!"
