Intelligence increases exp from monsters?

Hi I am new in this forum.
I have played for about 1 day with my new adept/mage/echantress/sorc/(wizard) lvl 11 now.
before I got 700 exp from giant spiders, now I get 718, this must have happened when I raised my inte above 8X or something, or is any other factor affecting it?
(cant test myself now, my int cost darn much to increase now, at 95)
