Hello champions of NWN!

(Problem 1)
I have been trying to get my char to lvl up to lvl 40. I figured the best chapter to do this is in HotU chapter 3.

What I realized is this. Now, I have 2 (Yes!, TWO) Demonic Grappling hands in my stash. I mean... I can't get across the rift without killing the Mimic, rite?

It weighs only 0.5g. It's not heavy, especially for a WM. But it takes up space. And I dun want a char at lvl 40 with lots of demonic grappling hands! The game does not allow me to drop the thing!

I wonder if Mephi can take this piece of item away from me too.

(Problem 2)
I have a Bard / Arcane Archer build who is best suited for multiplayer games. But I came across this chapter in HotU with another problem.

(I bet someone else faced this problem too).

When we defeated the Mimic, there was only 1 demonic grappling hand! So only 1 of us can cross the rift! How to multiplay this chapter like that?

We got ard the problem by using my problem #1, getting all of us to enter the game with chars already eqiupped with the hand.

The only problem with this "solution" is that we cannot help one another build special builds which specializes in multiplayer games.

As far as I recall, HOTU is mainly single player orientated, so it is quite possible that you can't cross the rift withouth a grappeling hand on each player.

HOTU was the result of the complaining of the people playing NwN as single player that the original version of the game was far to multiplayer orientaed with poor storyline and plot. Thus they made HOTU with single player in mind.

Well, I have several grappling hands on my lvl 40 chars already, taking up lotsa space. That is so uncool!

I guess it's back to killing the reptiles back in NW or the drow battle then. Either way, I was hoping to have a team of rookies fight the entire army protecting the Knower of Names.

I dun mean to be rude, but the success of D2X comes from online play. Tat is lacking in NWN. But I will stick to NWN, despite the numerous ubers out there. I like the engine better.

I finally figured out how to get rid of all those grappling hands!

Just plug my character into chapter 1 HotU. Apparantly, the thief steals the hand too!

Well, since i got into this mess in chapter 3... i got the solution in chapter 1!!!! hahaha...
