Quick help

Without importing a character, can you reach level 40 in HOTU? And if not, up to what level can you reach? I am about to start a campaign in SOU and am wondering if I should make a character thinking that I would export him into HOTU. I want to try a class for fun in SOU and want to make my ultimate character in HOTU. But if I can't reach level 40 in HOTU, then it would be wise for me to make my ultimate character in SOU. (which is an assasin fighter btw... don't laugh)

without cheating or playing multiplayer you will prob end up around level 28 to 30 ish depending on your character class etc.

Don't forget that HOTU kind of builds up on SOU. Personally, I always found it kind of jarring to start SOU with one character and begin HOTU with another.

i agree that for continuity its best to use the SOU character but no matter whether you take a character through SOU first or not, you will still end up no higher than level 30ish. to get to level 40 you really need to play multiplayer as you will not get close to it playing single player.

Everytime I've played Hotu, I've ended up at around L27 - 28 irregardless of class, so mr_sir's estimate is an accurate one.
