NWN - jerky movement and slow dialogue

Hi

I recently discovered that my Neverwinter Nights game is not running how it is supposed to. The screen rotation is jerky making it hard to target enemies accurately and to run around accurately. Basicly it is not rotating smoothly but instead moves in jumps and often overshoots where I want to go.

Also, the dialogue is funny. Indoors it is ok but if I am in an outdoors setting it takes a long time (1minute/response) to get the next set in a dialogue tree. This is weird as I don't see text as being to demanding on my computers resources.

Specs:

toshiba
satellite
Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU
1200 MHz
1.20 GHz, 240 MB of RAM

Your system is near the bare minimum for the game, it's a laptop right? Unfortunately all you can do to it is add more RAM, but most likely that won't help much. Your laptop is likely to have a very mediocre craphics chip on it, which is causing the bulk of the slowdowns, and that cannot be upgraded.

I remember having those kind of problems with NWN on my PC. Upgrading my graphics fixed those, but you can't do that.
You can always turn all the graphics settings ingame to minimum though, if you haven't already.

Because the text isn't the only thing shown on screen.

i have a useless graphics card, although the rest of my pc is reasonable, and it works fine. you just have to make sure you have all the up to date drivers for your card installed on your pc and turn the settings down until you find a setting that it is comfortable running with. turning off the little extra things like water textures etc. helps a lot too.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably just save it for some day when I improve my computer situation.
