I wiah to use my original SoA-ToB character in NWN, but there is no import option during character creation it sems. Nor does it work to move a save into the Saves folder and trying to load that (I get the error message that I have insufficient harddisc space, which I certainly do not). It may be beacuse I have played modded SoA-ToB games. Any advice on how to go about it? I realle- really like my character, it is a P&P one transferred...
Best wishes; Palle

Bioware originally intended players to be able to transfer their characters from BGII to NWN, but it was decided because you start with a Level 1 character and there are different rules in NWN to the BG games that you'd lose enough of the character details that it wasn't worth doing.
Of course you could always recreate a similar character in the game but not an identical copy.

True indeed. The character sheet is so very, very different with way more detailed skills and feats to choose from. Even if there was an import tool you'd still have to make a lot of choices as to what nwn feats/skills correspond to bg2 equivalents. Would be very close to creating a completely new character anyway.
And of course the fact that the modules (besided hotu) are designed for level 1 characters...

Thanks for your responses. I tried to take my ToB character down to lvl 1 again using Shadowkeeper, then export it, but it was not possible, sad, but no matter.
Thanks again.

The games are fundamentally different (different rules, different game engine), there wouldn't be any way to do that. You can always start a game of NWN and create a new character based on what you had in BGII, but it is going to be quite a bit different.

i've tried to make characters similar to those in bg2 before. you can't quite get the exact stats due to differences in how many stat points you get at the start, but its quite easy to make one which is similar. i often do the same thing with npcs out of bg1 and bg2 too and use them in nwn.

This topic has been up before, and seeing as the answer is also given in this thread, I'm choosing to close it.
