Ok I beat SoA and now I'm onto bigger and better things :) Also I got tired of the dialogues and wanted to design my own team.

So Here it is...

note: I edited with shadowkeeper...I am no purist; I just want to have fun

1) Undead Hunter X

Role: lots of HP and damage dealing plus Carsomyr and the Leader/Bhaalspawn

2) Fighter/Cleric X/Y (Dwarven so multiclass)

Role: Punish people with Crom Faeyr and FoA; Cleric and Backup Healer

3) Kensai 9/ Druid X

Role: Walks around with auto barkskin Staff of Woodlands; Wis 18 so lots of spells; Can jump in and cast bark plus iron skins and enter melee too; Healer and Summoner. Uses Belm or other scimitar when buffed

* I intend to use shadow keeper to give him shapeshift werewolf powers just for fun!

4) Fighter 9 / Assassin X Dual class Human (ala shadow keeper)

Role: kind of an experiment... Sets Traps, Scouts, GM longbow, Backstabs, Ring of Gaxx for extra attacks during assassination, Vhailors Helm for fun
Uses Katana's

5) Sorceror. Project Image plus the other goodies. I figured out real quick that if the rest of the team can protect this guy in time to get a project image on the table and protected vs. div/abj the enemy is hosed at the cost of one 7th level spell. Robes of Vecna & staff of magi

6) Backup Mage plus lockpicks and traps...

HERES MY PROBLEM what would be best for # 6? Monk? Swash/Mage? F/M/T

Blade or Stalker. Or leave blank for NPC sidequests and extra XP (when travelling with only 5)

BTW, if you're powergaming, I'd suggest going to level 13 with those fighters before dualclassing. The extra attacks are worth the wait, esp. since you have ToB.

Swashbuckler/mage human dual class for the fast leveling (swashbuckler) then fast leveling (mage) as fighters level up very slowly. If I were you I'd go long swords because noone else in your party is going longswords and there is the great blackrazor.

I don't really consider that to be a "problem". You just need to decide what you want and make some choices, and you'll get exactly what you want.

[QUOTE=myrophine]4) Fighter 9 / Assassin X Dual class Human (ala shadow keeper)

You will definitely need a Thief who can pick locks and find traps, since your Fighter/Assassin will not have those abilities. Keep in mind that Assassins only get 15 thieving points per level, so it will take a while before your Fighter/Assassin will be able to backstab AND set traps successfully. Personally, I'd rather have a multi-class Fighter/Thief when I play TOB, since the Fighter High Level Abilities are so powerful. For example, a backstab combined with Critical Strike is better than a 7x backstab.

[QUOTE=myrophine]5) Sorceror. Project Image plus the other goodies. If your Thief/Mage is a "backup" Mage, then I guess you consider your Sorcerer to be your "Primary Mage". I think it's a mistake to look at it that way. A 9th level Thief dualled to a Conjurer (use Shadowkeeper) is every bit as impressive and powerful as a Sorcerer and doesn't take a backseat to anybody when I play. I recommend one for your sixth party member.

BTW, I don't think there's any way for you to get Blackrazor if your party leader is a Paladin, unless you're willing to let him become a fallen Paladin.

Theres been many discussions and solutions to this problem, if you use sk to edit the class, I dont think you will object to stopping this from happening if you really want it.

I like your attitude... :D

Well, I agree with VonDondu on Fighter/Thief multi class instead of dual class Fighter->Assassin in ToB. You can also take advantage on the race specific advantage (ie. I like Elven fighter/thief, and use longsword and bows).

For the sixth member, though it depends on your play style, I would say f/m/t is not suitable. One is slow leveling considering you have full party, and also you already have enough muscle power.

If I were creating the party, I take Mage (plain or specialist) /Thief multi. Sorcerer has its disadvantage and the second mage can cover that. And give one thief more assassination specific skills (like hide in shadow), and the other thieving skills (unlock, pick pocket etc).
Some sort of bard is another option, I guess.

Or, you can try something different like monk or even wild mage.

Still, it's your pick.
