Quick Character/Leveling Question

In KOTR1 there was the max level of 20, so you would wait and hold off leveling your character until you became a Jedi. I read somewhere that for KOTR2 you don't have the option of Prestige class until level 15. First, is that true? Second, if it is true do you only get 5 levels of your Prestige class or does it start over or is there no max level or what?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
C

Technically, the level cap is now 50. Practically that means that there is no level cap, as it is impossible to get that high without cheating and making use of either the Hssiss or mine exploit (and there may be some problems if you do; like not receiving any items from random loot).
So, yes, you get to choose a prestige class at level 15. If you make good use of the XP the game offers you from mines (demolitions), locked doors (security), repair options, quests, etc, you should be able to make level 30/31 by the end of the game.
Incidentally, when you hit level 15 and choose a prestige class, you receive sufficient XP to level up again. The same is true of training your party members as Jedi. So holding back levels means you will always lose one level and some XP at this point.
