Problems- mod related?

Okay, I've just finished SoA (woohoo!) but I have a problem. The game imports my party- or at least tries to- the bioware NPC's spawn without a problem but my PC and Saerileth and Yasraena don't appear untill a couple of seconds after the auto-save. Then, neither Saerileth nor Yasreana will talk to me- I just get the "has nothing to say to you" message. Anyway, I carry on and the first dialogue in the game with the Bhaalspawn hunter (I forget her name) stops after she's said a couple of lines- the dialogue simply goes off as if I'd clicked *End Dialogue* but of course I haven't. Never the less, I managed to move on simply by talking to her again. Now I get to you-know-who, and he says his opening line and again the dialogue window simply closes as I click *continue*, now I know for a fact there is an interjection here if you have a party but no matter how many times I try to talk to him the dialogue still breaks. I've tried restarting a couple of times using the *Import Game* option and even once finishing SoA agiain from my Final Save. All to no avail.

Now, in addition to the Saerileth and Yasraena mods I'm using Unfinished Business, Ease-of-Use and Dungeon-Be-Gone. Before anyone says it, I am aware of the dangers of using third-party modifications, especially several that were not made to work together as in this case; and indeed, I did encounter a couple of bugs in SoA but I suspect something else to be the cause of my troubles in ToB:

In the Sahuagin City I picked up the cloak of Mirroring and it had a strange blue/green ovoid instead of that ghastly sphere, I'd noticed this on some mages previously but they didn't last very long so I ignored it, but when I realised I'd have to look at it for the rest of the game I decided to change it. I'm not entirely certain which mod this ovoid came from but logic dictates it came from the "Turn off the hideous Cloak-of-Mirroring/Spell Trap animation" component of EoU. So out it came- unfortunately the WeiDu uninstaller mentioned alot of other mods as well including Saerileth and Yasraena- and sure enough on restart neither of the ladies would talk to me and the romances/plots wouldn't work. I re-installed both mods and everything carried on as normal until now.

So, I don't thing the problems I'm encountering now are bugs in ToB, any of my mods or are the result of cross mod conflict, but are in fact the repercussions of uninstalling a mod after I've installed others on top of it.

So, the point of this long-winded treatise is- am I right? I just want to know if those of you who have experience with the Infinity Engine, WeiDu Installer or just mods in general if my assumption is correct and if I were to do a clean install of BG2 and the mods I want to use, this shouldn't happen again if I don't take something back out should it?

Cheers in advance.
