Slashterpiece (Spoilers)

Posts in the thread on Jeanette and Therese got me thinking: how did Therese make/paint/procure four paintings that incorporate a blood guardian if slashed in a particular sequence?

This is very much a thinking aloud sort of thread, as evidently the game doesn't provide answers (even when playing as a Malkavian!). Presumably the guardian and paintings are a particular form of Thaumaturgy (although I leave that to people better versed in the PnP world). Which would probably rule out Therese/Jeanette as the artist.

The other question is why do it? If the guardian only appears when the paintings are slashed, not exactly a subtle trap is it? So could the guardian have been summoned in another way? In which case, does Therese dabble in thaumaturgy a little?

Lots of fun questions for people to dig their teeth into if they choose, and it prevents us going OT in another thread!

Not only that but they have to be slashed in a specific order IIRC, not even a very efficient trap. Though I did notice that if you slashed them in the wrong order each slash drained some blood. Can't remember if it caused damage or not though.

If you slash the paintings in the wrong order they will repair themselves.

Yeah, this is another mystery the game doesn't explain. One can assume that she procurred the painting from a particularly talented Cainite who had utilized disciplines in the creation of the painting. Otherwise, she employed the services of the Tremere in adding a protection to the exhibit.

Slash them in the order they chronologically happened.
