Converting screen caps from the internet...

What programs or what-not does it take to convert pictures from a JPEG to a GIF? Unfortunately, my techno-wiz younger brother is working nights as of lately (in short: unavailable), so I mostly need outside help. My goal is to turn some images into portraits for Icewind Dale 2, so any help could be appreciated.

I have a Serif program that allows you to 'export' images as formats outside of the .spp it uses. Maybe you can find some programs that have similar functions.

Try and take a look at the software you can find at
Tucows or do a Google search. Most image utilities would be able to do what you ask.

I just use Paint. Right click on the image and hit edit, once it appears on your screen, go to "file" in the upper left corner. Select "save as," from the menu that appears. Click on the "save as type," pulldown menu, and then select GIF.
You can also use Paint to tailor particular parts of an image for use as a portrait. Go to the Paint help menu for further info on this though. I would explain how to do it, but it has been quite some time, and I've forgotten the specifics.

IrfanView is the best.
