What is it with me and having issues? Lol. Anyway... so, I'm downtown, right... Well, I've spoken with the cab driver several times in an attempt to get back to Santa Monica... However, each time I select Santa Monica on the map, the game half-loads it and then crashes. It's really quite irritating... How do I fix this?
-Sincere Thanks,

You might be able to take the sewers back to the Santa Monica, though. It might cause the same problems, but it would be worth experimenting with.
Otherwise, my only suggestion would be to make sure you have all the patches downloaded (you might even try the unofficial patches). Uninstall/reinstall as needed. Sorry!

Truely and quel bummer. The problem you describe I have never even heard of, and a re-install might be all you have.

possible solution
I had a similar problem with chinatown. I could never get into
the place without it crashing. I finally tried deleting the chinatown hub
file in Vampire\maps\graphs, and that worked. I haven't had the
problem since then.
Anyway, find the loc file, I think it's sp_taxiride.loc, and move it somewhere
else -- like on your desktop and see if you can ride the cab. If it doesn't
work, just put the file back.
I think that, over time, these files might get corrupt, but they get
created again if they aren't there when they're needed.

oops -- wrong file
Correction on my last reply. I misread what you said. If you can't
get into Santa Monica, then the file to delete would be sm_hub_1.loc
or sm_hub_2.loc -- just delete any file that starts with sm_hub

Oh, the Vampire/maps directory is dynamic, too ?
Strange way of programming, but oh well, good to know.

I fixed this long long long ago... Turns out my computer is just a piece of crap. I'll have to have someone buy me a new one...
