But you do come across a couple while trying to recover farmer Bruin's son (where you can get your plate), then you can meet a ranger (?) who warns you of the Ankhegs but asks you to spare them...

The stupid thing about that particular armor in Nashkell is its description. Apparently, it was made for *you* by the smith in Beregost while using a Ankheg Shell. This Ankheg Shell you'll probably get much later and it then takes 10 days for him to create the armor, too. It's rather hard to roleplaying that correct again, wouldn't you say? ;) Still, I totally agree on your way of reasoning here.

...but CRPG is not even close to PnP concerning role play experience (IMHO).
