Slightly Confused about high level-abilities

I've gotten through most of the game; to the point right before you have to kill Mellisan (sp?). My pc is a level 8 fighter, duel classed over to a level 32/33 cleric. In my group I have Jaheira, Sarevok, Minsc, Imoen, and Nalia. Since nobody was at maximum experience, I went ahead and cheated to bring their levels up, since I am about to fight the final battle. But I noticed one thing as I leveled them up; not a single person got a high level ability. Now, I probably won't use half of the ones I get, but I'm feally confused on this. Especially since the last time I played through BG2:ToB, I'm pretty sure everyone in my group had gotten their abilities. Is this a bug or something?

Well, how did you actually do it.

A high level ability is something that you choose. So if you edited it through shadowkeeper, then you have to choose the abilitys. I would simply suggest that you pump their experience, and then do the levels in the game.

I just used CLUA console to bring up their experience. After I did that, their level- up button-thing would go on, so i could level them up. But the ability button on their lever-up page wouldn't be on, so I couldn't access any of their high-level abilities.

so your character was already 8/22 ? then you should already have picked up their abilities

after level 20 you may choose a ability

untill level 30 that's max

unles you cheated

but a better question is do you have any mods installed?

Now that sounds really strange, must be a bug or something. You *should* get HLAs by CLUAConsoling them up. I know I always do.

But why cheat when you're so close to the end? Isn't it worth to at least try once? Meh, your choice...

I've got the Chloe mod installed, but i don't have her in my group at the moment because she left at the end of SoA.

I'm pretty sure that I don't have any patches, but I'll have to check.

I don't know if Chloe's made for ToB. IIRC, the read-me said that there weren't yet any dialouges for her in ToB, but that was a while ago. Also, I started a new SoA game for the fun of it after I installed ToB. When I got to the point where you meet Chloe, her dialouge box was completely empty. It might be related to the problem I'm having now, but I dunno.
