50% Question

Hi all -
I was just wondering - I was looking at the Feyduster+1 and Feyduster+2, and I noticed that when it specifies the abilities, it says the effect (sleep, daze), then the DC which I understand, then a percentage, then the duration. For instance the Feyduster +2 says "Sleep DC-14 50% / 2 Rounds." What does the '50%' mean?
Thanks.

The percentile is the chance that upon hit the listed effect will occur. In this case half of the times that your weapon lands it will cause sleep subject to a save, i.e. every other hit.

On average naturally :)

OK - so 50% of the time it will just do damage and no save is taken?

As I understand it works like this:
1.You attack and have an xx-% chance of hitting (depeding on opponent's AC, your total attack bonus and circumstances), like with any other weapon.

2. IF you hit, there's a 50% chance that the effect of the 'sleep' will 'reach' the victim

3. WHEN it reaches the victim (in 50% of the hits), they have to make a save DC 14 (probably Fortitude safe, otherwise Will save) or the will be affected by the 'sleep'

Exactly correct, except it is a Will save (as per the 1st level mage spell).
