Too Many Quests?

Can you have too many quests?
I completed the Circus Tent (somehow managed to bypass a bunch of the baddies and went straight up to Kalah), and Aerie joined the team.
We went to the Slums district to the Copper Coronet (looking for quests to raise the 20K GP we need to get help with Imoen) where we ran into and picked up Anomen.
We turned around and were immediately confronted with Nalia and her woeful tale, to which we agreed to lend a hand. Of course, we couldn't take Nalia into the team because we had too many so we told her we'd meet her at the Keep.
We also ran into Korgan and agreed to help him with his quest, but at another time (he didn't seem to be in any rush).
But now I'm wondering if we've collected too many quests too soon. It seems that every time we turn around we're either getting whacked by meanies (and can't use our magic for fear of the Cowled Creeps

) or picking up another quest! Do I just walk away from the extra quests and come back to them?
Also, it appears that the next logical step is to take care of the de'Arnise Keep and Nalia's troubles. However, I'm getting severely whacked by the multiple meanies that keep showing up. Any suggestions?
Sorry for the rambling, but I'm either under water or simply disorganized. Your suggestions are most appreciated!

Just accept the quests and do them in whatever order you choose. If you want, you may desire to role play and stay away from quests offered from those at the opposite end of the alignment spectrum. I've been through the game three times and haven't found any quests to be under time constraints, that is, if you accept and do not perform in a certain amount of time, you lose the quest. There are some elements in the game under a specific time frame but you are readily informed when those events occur. Is this your first time through the game. I could add more but certainly don't want to spoil anything for you.

The quests that you have collected doesn't have a time limit - at least I don't think there are - leave them as long as you want. And no, you cannot have too many quests, just make sure that you know which one have a time limit and which doesn't.
Hint: about casting spells, collect 5000 gp and go to the Council building in Government District and talk to Corneil.

I agree with Ned Flanders, but I think Nalia's quest has time limit. I once did other quest or two first to get NPCs, and went to the Castle about 15 days later. Nalia wasn't happy, and she only gave me a few hundred GP.
I presume you need to be there within 10 days.

Minverva: did you let her join the party?

I did. I was playing Fighter/Mage (dual class), and she offered me the Castle afterwards. I'm sure that is because of the timing. Nalia was angry and said something like, "Where have you been? I've been waiting for so long."

I had Nalia join my party, and after doing a lot of the quests in Athkatla (don't know how many days it was, sorry) she complained that we needed to go to her keep as soon as possible. I'd guess that after she warns you, if you don't get there within a couple of days she will probably leave your party. But I'm guessing.

I think you didn't have Nalia in the party when you killed Torgal. She will give you some 10K GP ONLY if you defeated Torgal with her in the party. Hell, I have done Nalia quest *after* I was back from Underdark.

In my experience, only time-limited quests are stronghold quests and NPC-specific (who are currently in your party) quests. Otherwise, losing your stronghold, your party members leaving, stuffs like that happen.

All - Thanks for setting my mind at ease on the number and timing of the quests. As I mentioned, it seems that Nalia's quest would be the next step in our journey, so we'll head in that direction.
Ned Flanders - Yes, first time through and having a blast (pardon the pun)!

As I get stuck or confused, I check back for tips on what I've missed or need to go forth and conquer.
Sabre - Thanks for the tip. I'm shy of the mark by about 3K but could quickly come up with the GP if I dumped some of the wands, potions and gems/jewelry I've collected along the way. Sounds like I should get this taken care of quickly - I'm not one for restraining the magics!

Nalia will leave the party about 6 days if you haven't gone to De'Arnise Hold yet. About the amount of gold you get, I'll go with Paul Denton's explaination.

Hahaha. I won't ruin your game, but later, you will learn how to steal. Money to burn!!!
For that license, I never buy it 'cause I want to kill those Cowled Enforcers. Nobody tells me what to do, and I am not paying money for casting spells.

Cernd also gives only four days....
Re magic licence - my first time through I did not use a single spell until I had raised enough to money buy it.
This time through I have used sooo many spells and am greedily flaunting the law! I have no licence and have yet to be arrested, or whatever, but I have had no-one yet (other than my targets!) complain. I save quite often so can reload if punished for burning up a few baddies!
