7th&8th Circles of Zerthimon

Guys, I can't get Dak'kon to let me access the 7th&8th circles ?
My WIS is 19; my INTL is 19.
I just spent my latest point on iNTL ... if I can't get the 7th&8th circles, I'd rather put it into STR
I keep getting:" still reading, will return later" ... or something sounding similar
On levels 1-6, I'd get: "you want to learn the next circle".
I'm accessing the dialogue through the "teachings" dialogue option.
Did I forget which option to choose to access the Circle conversation
Is this a bug in the game ... am I doing something wrong
All the walkthroughs say I need both WIS/INTL higher than 18 to read the 7th/8th circles and get the goodies attached to them = I need those goodies
As alwsays guys, I appreciate your time !!!

Increase your wisdom. It's the only way. You can't have it all: if you want to be the strongest fighter around, you'll have to give what high wisdom and knowledge can bring you.

Fable - ok.
So, it's not "just above" 18 on both, it could be "way over 18" on both.
I've already comitted myself to go mage, so there's no turning back.
I don't have but one level 5 spell, and I'm at the Clerk Ward section ... just finished Foundry
Bunch of lower spells = not sure if I'm progressing at an acceptable pace
My configuration is(Fighter-7/Mage-8) ... STR-15/DEX-16/INTL-19/WIS-19/CONST-9/CHAR-11 ... I think that's all the categories
Am I on pace to "have a shot at completing the game" ?
Thanks.

I'm pretty confident Wis and Int need to be 19. If you've got that, I'm still not sure why the dialogue is not opening up. It may just be you have to progress further in the game. I'm sure there is someone out there who knows for sure, though.
Still, Fable is right. Keep working on Wisdom. You'll definitely want to max it as you progress. It is by far your most important stat. You get an experience bonus, and it will open a lot of dialogue options up for you as the game progresses.

Thanks Guys!!!
I'll keep trying to get the "teaching/Dak'kon" let me at those last two circles
I'll keep adding to wisdom.
Any more dialogue options and I may go nuts
I must spend 10+ minutes on some people looking for different dialogue trees = losing 4+ hours on rest/sleep ... the ol' wheelchair isn't that comfortable at 3am when you're going nuts because you know "there's important dialogue", but you just can't find the right dialogue route
Just wanted to make sure I'm on target and not causing myself added discomfort for nothing = I intend to beat this game
I know those gray-floating thingies are going to be very tough ... at least the alley cutscene looked that way
I can bet some powerful magic foes await .. I just need to keep Dak'kon and Morte' alive
Annah is giving me fits = always losing health in fights ... I'm guessing she will be the first to go
Time to rest up for my Clerk-ing tonight.
Thanks guys ... nice to know "I" have someone watching my back !

From what the experts say, Intellect 19 is all you need, even for a Mage. To get all of the best dialogue options (with few exceptions), Wisdom 23 or 24 should suffice. (25 is the max for every stat.) Charisma 16 helps in a couple of cases that spring to mind, but high Wisdom usually trumps everything else. There are other ways besides levelling up to get stat increases, by the way, so if you play your cards right, you'll get awesome stats by the end of the game.
You shouldn't worry about completing the game. If you follow the major storyline (which involves deciphering a few important clues), you will get to where you need to go. And if you play your cards right, you can avoid combat in most situations, so your characters don't NEED to be as tough as you might think. The main thing that might bother you about finishing the game is that you might miss some of the quests and dialogue (there are so many of them), and even if you finish ALL of the quests, you still won't get answers to all of your questions, and you'll just have to live with it.
I'll give you a couple of spoilers just to give you some comfort, okay? But if you don't want any spoilers, don't read them:
There are two areas in the game where you can earn unlimited experience. One is Under Sigil, where the monsters respawn endlessly and you can kill as many of them as you like if you don't mind repetitive battles. If you go there later in the game, you'll see some monsters that you didn't see before, and in rare cases, they will drop items of massive power than can improve the abilities of your party members.
You can also buy the Modron Cube in the Curiosity Shoppe. You should not pass it up. One of the joinable NPCs is hidden inside it, and in my opinion, he is indispensible. For one thing, he's the only NPC who can use missile weapons. With the right equipment (such as the Lens of Seeing Double) he can kill most monsters before they ever reach you. The Modron Cube also offers an endless supply of monsters and treasure, and it can enable you to reach insanely high levels if you don't mind repetitive battles. You can also use the cube as a teleportation device. I'm not sure if it was meant to be used that way, but it worked for me.
There is also a trick you can use in the Alley of Dangerous Angles to get thousands of gold pieces in treasure. Just lure gang members into the opposing gang's territory, let them kill each other, and then pick up the loot. It isn't possible to do that anymore if either of the gang leaders is killed, so I don't know if you have already missed your chance. I used the gold to buy tattoos at Fell's tattoo parlor, which is a great way to boost stats.
Good luck!

I did this part a couple of days ago; you do only need WIS 19. You don't get a dialogue option from Dak'kon - you need to look at the Unbroken Circle in his inventory and you will get a line something like "examine the circle, see if you can find any new combinations". You will then be able to read the 7th circle, and talk to Dak'kon about it. Hope that helps.

Thanks Guys !
I finally got the 7th/8th levels of Zerthimon.
I did UnderSigil ... doing the Cube now = very tough for a weak Mage
I hope I didn't pickup, then drop the "Seeing Double" lens - I noticed most were usable only by Modrons, so I dropped all
I think once you drop something, it disappears from the screen once you backtrack ?
If at Cube's end, I didn't find that Lens, I'll probably re-do the section.
May give UnderSigil another try
Appreciate your time and help ... if it's this difficult now, I can only imagine how tough it will get near games end
Looking ast the NPC's, I thought that Vhailor character was a good one ?
Since I can only keep 6, I will have to drop someone :-(

Personally, I'd keep Annah, Morte, Dak'kon, and Fall-From-Grace (those four always seemed like the most developed NPCs to me, and all are fairly powerful for what they are suppose to do). For the final spot, I'd probably go Vhailer for raw tankage, if you find yourself struggling. Otherwise, Nordom can be fun. Regardless, make sure you spend some time exploring the conversation options with the NPCs you don't bring along.

As surprising as it might seem, the game is likely to get easier for you, not tougher. You'll see what I mean when you see the last few major confrontations for yourself. Fighting High Threat Constructs at low level is about as tough as the game is ever going to get. (They are called "High Threat Constructs" for good reason.)
I don't like Vhailor much. I like to keep Morte, Dak'kon, Annah, Fall-From-Grace, and Nordom in my party. Vhailor is not uninteresting, but he is less interesting to me than the other NPCs. Besides, if you gain a lot of experience in the Rubikon and UnderSigil, Vhailor (a 10th level Fighter) will be pretty weak in comparison when you meet him.
SPOILER
The main value in having Vhailor in your party is that a lawful character can gain extra Strength points by talking to him. The more lawful you are, the more points you get. That might be a good reason to let him into your party temporarily, but I wouldn't pass up any of other NPCs just for that, and I wouldn't leave them behind to make room for Vhailor.

The stats you need for the 8th Circle are 18 INT and 19 WIS.
