school of opposition?

Hi
im playing a wiz conjurer so i cannot cast any transmutation spells since they are from a school of opposition.
Yet when i level up i can choose transmutation as a spell focus feat.. will choosing such a feat will enable me to cast transmutation spells or is it obsolete for my conjurer?
