I talked to Metzger and he said I can go see Vic but when I try to open the door to get to him...the guard tells me to piss off, even though Metzger said it was ok for me to go in . The only other way I can get to Vic is if I kill all the guards but my guy and NPC are too weak and end up getting killed every time. Is this some kind of glitch? I haven't installed the patch but will it fix this?

Have you tried to talk to the guard? When talking you get an option (sorry, but can't currently remember what you say to him) and the guard will open the door to you saying something about that "I didn't know you wanted to talk to him right now." So there is no need to kill slavers yet

talk to the man next to vic's door

and u have some options

1) i have some repairing skills maybe i can help so lemme in
2) i have scientific skills bla bla
3) ask him if u may see vic

and if u payed metzger talk to vic and he will go with u

Oh god I was talking to the wrong guard...I though Vic was with all those other slaves. Agh I feel stupid.

I wouldn't recommend that. At the beginning of the game money isn't so easy to get, so why should you waste? I have almost always made few levels, found better weapon and then killed all those slavers. You get Vic, and you don't pay anything to Metzger. Of course, you can't do this if you want to become slaver, then you have to pay for getting Vic out.

i mostly kill him too with bare hands

only problem is sulik is dying sometimes :/ that weak pathetic man
