Need quick help with connecting two PC's to a single DSL

I don't want to buy a hub or another router, so I'm going to use a crossover cable but I encountered a problem. From what I read, the connector of a crossover cable must have 8 contacts, but the only plughole (at the back of my computer) that supports 8 contacts is already in use by the router. But there are two other plugholes that support 6 contacts (modem/phone?). Any ideas?
