I am in Vienna in the clock tower and there is a gear in the way and I have been trying to get past it for ages now and I can't get through. I keep thinking there must be a switch but I can't find it. Please shed some light on me.

I figured it out. It was a glitch.

I figured it out. There was a glitch in the game and for some reason it skipped over the sunset which then leads to the gear moving. I would delete this thread but I don't really know how.

I haven't played this game for many years, but I do remember the clocktower well.

You mean the clocktower right ? I don't think it's a glitch, but here's what you could do. To the left there's a stairway down, where you can loot some items. One of the items is a scroll of mistform. Go back up, use the scroll on yourself, and then you can get passed the sling. Wait for the mistform to wear off, and deactivate the sling by pressing the button in the wall.

Or just use celerity, which worked for me on 2nd try. :)

:-( Problems

I go to the V. Mountain after returning to Prague and see Anezka. The walls fall down and the scene blacks out.... and never comes back on. Is it supposed to take 800 years or something?? No seriously, the game crashes. If I download the patch would that fix it? It is very annoying. I have gotten so far and it just crashes in the same place. GRRRRR

Please let me know if this can be fixed or if the game is just garbage.

Sincerely,
Me

Probably just a crash, if it's a bug, i've once again never heard of it. Neither one of all the problems mentioned in this forum apply to my copy of the game, and i didn't even patch it.

If there's anything i can suggest, it would be installing a no-cd patch after installing the game, not only do you prevent your software from wearing out, but the game may actually run more smooth too. I download no-cd patches for every game i play, so i only have to use the disc once. Most of the time it's a no-cd/fixed exe, so that's two in one.
