It is actually quite a "large" question - so it isn't very dumb
It is a bonus to indicate "how good" the sword is.
Enchantment bonus gets added to your "to-hit" and damage roll. Futhermore will it be used to beat damage reduction and some monsters can only be hit by a certain enchantment bonus.
Supposed you have a +3 sword.
This means that each time you try and hit a monster the game will add 3 to the roll to test to see if you hit (check out the manual for the mechanics of combat).
If you hit it will also add 3 damage.
In regards of the damage reduction then you sometimes need a specific enchantment bonus or higher to bypass it, there the bonus comes into play once more. If using a weapon with an enchantment bonus lower then what is needed - you will only do partial damage (full damage subtracted the damage reduction). Damage reduction is also described in the manual and I'd recommend reading about it.
Generally - the higher the bonus the better, however - there are also other factors to consider before deciding which weapon is best for you, such as other bonus and effects on the weapon
Hope this helps somewhat

Thank you. But here's another question with weapons: what's means D precicely? The Scimitar does 1d6 damage, but the great sword 2d4... what does that mean?

That D is for Dice (or Die, can never remember the proper english).
So basically - 1d6 means 1 throw with a 6 sided dice, giving a result of 1 to 6.
2D4 means 2 throws with a 4 sided dice giving a result of 2 to 8 (1 to 4 + 1 to 4)

And there are also 2-bladed weapons. As damage they have: 1d8/1d8. What does this mean?

Double bladed weapons works as if you have a weapon in each hand, and it does the X/X damage for each "blade"/weapon.
So you will do 1d8 with your main hand and 1d8 with your off-hand.
