Inside Catacombs level 2 there is a locked section about the middle - I can see (partly) inside through a semi-broken wall to the west but I can not enter - where do I find this key? or is this place available later?
BTW is there a "linear" walkthrough? (preferably one that suggests to a newbie what to visit next) ;-) I want to be sure I don't miss anything.

Do you mean the catacombs under the starter village? In any case, there is always a key or wall switch that will open every door in the game. They're really not that hard to find. Beyond Divinity has some much tougher ones.
As for walkthroughs, check out GameFAQs. Personally, though, I'd suggest just playing the game. It's a lot more fun than following a roadmap.
