Unused sound files?

I've been going through the sound files for characters in the game, and i've heard many sound clips from characters that say something like "Here", "Take this", "I'll send you an email about it". The sound files below are phrases I have never heard the characters say, nor does the walkthrough make mention of such interaction with any of the characters mentioned below.

Take a look at....

Anyone actually hear these ingame? ...I suppose it's possible I had no such encounters because of my clan/attributes(or lack thereof).

As is the case with most complex RPGs, there is a bunch of junk that never quite made it into the game. Baldur's Gate, Fallout 2,... They all had stuff that didn't get in and was eventually found by people snooping around the game's files. Usually, it's unfinished quests and dialogues, but I guess that sound files are also an option...

I know there were a few unused sound files in games like KoTOR as well, since all dialogue was voiced in that game as well. Maybe people will be able to use these audio files to spice up custom quests, or re-activate these hidden ones, with time.

Voice Files

With voice files, the problem may not necessarily be that they were intended for something that got left out. Good voice actors are a very expensive and short-term resource in any project. Naturally, there are specific known dialogs that they are to record, but it is fairly common to chew up any excess time left on the contract by having them record a bunch of general-purpose words and phrases that may have never had an intended purpose, but were simply gathered at the time "just in case", since by contract the time was already paid for. Given the types of files located, I suspect that they were just that - filler. Just in case.

Exactly. Several of the characters have simple all-round lines like that at the end of their dialogue files. While I restored all unique lines that I could into the unofficial patch, I never cared much about those because they sound too generic.
